Monaco – Entry and settlement
Become a resident
Meet the requirements: Any foreigner over the age of 16 who wishes to reside in Monaco for more than 3 months per year must apply for a resident card issued by the Monegasque authorities, in accordance with the Franco-Monegasque Neighborhood Convention of May 18, 1963, and the . Nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA): All that is required is a valid identity card or passport. No visa is required. Nationals of countries outside the EEA: Before taking any steps in the Principality, apply for a Monaco residence visa issued by the French authorities. Please note that this visa also applies to minors. Contact the Consulate of France in your country of residence. Depending on your nationality and country of origin, the formalities to be completed will be different. In all cases, you will need to:
– Provide proof of residence in Monaco in a dwelling that meets the household’s needs. Consult the: List of member agencies of the Monaco Real Estate Chamber
– Guarantee sufficient financial resources:
Have an employment contract
Or be a company manager or director, or self-employed, or a business founder
Or benefit from third-party support
Or have sufficient savings
– Provide proof of good moral character (criminal record extract or equivalent)

Obtaining a Resident Card The Resident Card is issued by the Residents Section of the Public Security Directorate. The documents required for this application depend on the applicant’s project and profile.

Note: The Resident Card is not issued to minors under 16 years of age. However, a Minor Foreigner Travel Document may be issued to facilitate their travel abroad.
