Mr. Dimitris Ioannidis, of De Burg & Associates, is organizing next November, with the auction house PIASA, the first sale of works of Greek art of the twentieth century in Paris, in collaboration, (among others), with the Greek Cultural Center of Pars.

To carry out this ambitious project, PIASA turned to art historian Dimitri Joannidès, a specialist in 20th-century Greek art. A journalist for the weekly magazine Gazette de Drouot, Dimitri Joannidès is an expert on the work of the painter Alkis Pierrakos. Having already written many forewords to exhibition catalogues (Pierrakos, Christoforou, Lindström), Joannidès will be primarily responsible for writing the biographical notes and texts that will be presented in the catalogue.

PIASA is the fourth French auction house and the first to participate in the Hôtel Drouot in Paris. It organizes over 90 auctions annually in various fields such as furniture and art objects, old and new paintings, contemporary art, drawings, photography, engravings, books, Asian art, jewelry, etc.

It will be preceded by an exhibition at the Grande Bretagne Hotel in Athens from 14 to 16 November 2012.

The sale will take place at the Hôtel Drouot, Paris, Tuesday 27 (afternoon) and Wednesday 28 (morning) November 2012.

The printed catalog, which will be printed in 8,000 copies in a bilingual French-Greek edition, will
