Sir Stelios Hadjiioannou supports new businesses
At a time when the Greek economy is reeling, when more and more young people (and older ones) are leaving behind the “scorched earth” and migrating to find work, when businesses are closing en masse one after another, or moving their headquarters to other countries, Sir Stelios Hadjiioannou, founder of easy jet, easy group and the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, is actively and effectively supporting young entrepreneurs.
Additionally, Stelios Hadjiioannou grants SCHOLARSHIPS to students at Doukas schools every year, offers “FOOD FROM THE HEART”, 4,000,000 snacks in Greece and Cyprus in the last 3 years and grants ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARDS every year to young, intelligent and worthy entrepreneurs, essentially rewarding the values that define him and himself!
This year, Stelios Hadjiioannou, as part of his efforts to strengthen entrepreneurial activity, especially youth entrepreneurship and the start of entrepreneurial activity among young people, granted 8 young entrepreneurs the sum of 100,000 EURO! This amount is double that of 2015 and for the first time is being shared among 8 young entrepreneurs.
The “STELIOS HADZIOANNOU AWARD, BUSINESS START-UP OF THE YEAR 2016” was announced for 9 consecutive years, in which it has allocated a total of 500,000 EURO to new entrepreneurs!
The awards were received by the following six young entrepreneurs: The first prize of 30,000 euros goes to “Sun of a beach” (Melina Pispa & Ellie Runtou)!
The remaining 7 businesses that receive 10,000 euros each are:
